There is something so special between a mother and her daughter. Yes, I know there is something special between a mother and a son, as well. But we all know that a mother/daughter relationship is obviously different than a mother/son relationship, which is also special all on its own. This is my gorgeous auntie and cousin. And to say that it’s a blast to photograph them is an understatement. They are goofy and fun and loving and sweet and spunky and wild and everything in between towards one another. They tickle and pinch and hug and kiss and snuggle and push and every bit of it is done with love and joy. At the end of the day, no matter how old they are, your baby will ALWAYS be your baby. This mama adores her baby just like a mama of a newborn. So neat that love grows and becomes deeper as time passes. I always look at my kids and think I couldn’t possibly love them more than I already do. And then I wake up the next day and love them even more. The love between a parent and a child is one of my very favorite things to capture. There really is nothing like it.
These two also make living away from home very difficult because there is something to be said to be around the women of your family (as a woman). They make you feel strong and brave and uplift and encourage you the way no one else can. While I was back home visiting I surprised my auntie at work and we went out to lunch. We picked up right where we left off, as if we’d seen each other the day before. I also got to spend some time with just my sweet cousin, Rainey, and we immediately talked the kind of talk you talk with only your closest of friends. We laughed and maybe even cried a bit. This girl has big things coming her way. She is a gypsy at heart, just like me. It must just run in the family. I can’t wait to see where this next year takes her. She is courageous and outgoing and is going to take this world by storm and live life to her soul’s content. I just know it.
I love you both so very much. I cannot wait to see you again! xoxo
