This was a very special session for me. Over the past couple of years I have been blessed with the opportunity to volunteer at Legacy Pregnancy Center and get to know these wonderful ladies. Some of you may know that I donate several Legacy Sessions (specially created just for Legacy) throughout the year to moms and dads that go through their Earn While You Learn program. About two years ago it was heavy on my heart to give back and God kept leading me to Legacy. It was with much prayer and lots of careful listening that I reached out to Kathryn, at Legacy. I basically walked in their doors, laid my heart out on the table, and then never looked back. I knew right away that I had found exactly what God had intended for me to find. It has brought me much joy and fulfillment to work with these families and their babies. Not only do I gain new friends and get to snuggle sweet little cherubs and witness God’s divine plan in all those tiny faces, but I also get to give back to our community through an organization that I feel so deeply for. On top of the donated sessions, I have also gotten to be a part of the last two annual banquets. Oh my goodness, it is so much fun! And just as rewarding as the Legacy Sessions. To watch something like that come to fruition; from a single little idea to a room full of individuals who intend to protect and serve families facing unexpected pregnancies, rising up and taking a stand… it gives me goosebumps just to think about it. I have come to love each of these ladies and call them my friends. God is so good and brought me such gifts when he put them in my path. I am forever thankful for them and for their ministry. Doing His work and opening their arms with grace and kindness and love for those in need, they have each met their calling and do it so well. I could burst with love for them.
A bit about Legacy…
“Legacy is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women and families facing unexpected or challenging pregnancies. The medical and program staff at Legacy recognize that this is one of the most difficult decisions you will ever make. You are smart, strong, and capable of making good decisions for you and your future.” (www.legacypregnancy.org)
“The Legacy team exists to embrace, encourage, and empower women and men facing unplanned pregnancies.” ~ And that they do, plus so much more.
