It is recommended that you book within your second trimester. In order to be sure to get on my calendar before it is full, you’ll want to be sure to book ample time in advance. This also ensures that if you choose to have a Maternity Session as well, there will be enough time to do so.
Within 20 days after birth. When a Newborn Portrait Session is booked (ideally in the 2nd trimester), the due date is penciled into my calendar. Once baby arrives, parents must reach out to make the session appointment.
Due to the nature of the session and the needs of a newborn baby, Newborn Portrait Sessions can take anywhere from 1.5- 4 hours. This depends on the session that you have booked and how the baby does . Baby is boss here at Emily Robin Photography.
Other than formula and bottles (if your baby is bottle fed), the studio is fully equipped with everything needed for sessions. However, if you have something of sentimental value that you’d like to incorporate into your session, I encourage you to bring it along to your session. I will always do my best to include it in the portraits.
Between 32-36 weeks.
On-location outdoor portrait sessions take place within the first 90 minutes after the sun comes up or the last 90 minutes before the sun goes down. This ensures that I can utilize the most ideal lighting conditions for your portrait sessions.
All studio sessions take place during studio hours, which are Monday – Friday, 8am – 3pm. On-location sessions take place Monday – Friday, during ideal lighting timeframes (see above). Weekend sessions are offered only on a special needs basis. Additional fees may occur.

Absolutely! Travel up to 35 miles from Sheridan is included in the Storytelling Family Sessions. However, I know that sometimes we have special places that we’d like to have in our portraits. I am happy to accommodate that or come to you, wherever you may be. I love to travel and am honored when families from all over the country invite me to come visit! Travel fees apply.
